Daelim Museum : Art in Life, Life in Art 2

Art in Life, Life in Art 2  (취향가옥 2)

Hosted by D MUSEUM from June 28, 2024 to February 22, 2026, Art in Life, Life in Art 2 expands on the success of the museum’s 10th anniversary exhibition, transforming the theme of “home” into a canvas where art and everyday life intersect. Presenting over 600 works from private collections and the Daelim Museum Foundation, the exhibition spans painting, sculpture, design, craft, and media, inviting visitors to reflect on how art shapes both taste and daily experience.

In this context, Heather Lim was featured as the exhibition’s only AI media artist. Her practice, which explores the artificial glow and heightened reality of technology as a language for revealing the existential conditions of AI, was woven into the exhibition’s broader dialogue on how art can reframe lived environments.

The artificial light and exaggerated sense of reality embodied by neon function as an aesthetic language in Heather Lim’s work, revealing the existential conditions of AI. Coin Toss freezes a transient moment where chance and tension converge - echoing the simple yet decisive act of flipping a coin before a game.

The work symbolizes the fragile equilibrium and friction between humans and technology, prompting a fundamental question in our shared world of coexistence: who holds the power to decide?

I built a new workflow for the project using ComfyUI and Stable Diffusion. The Morph pipeline integrates IPAdapter Plus (V2), ControlNet QRCode, and AnimateLCM to generate seamless dynamic morphing videos. IPAdapter Plus provides image-to-image prompting with prepared reference images, while ControlNet QRCode introduces visual complexity into the animation and AnimateLCM accelerates rendering. The process concludes with an upscaling stage to refine resolution and detail, ensuring high-quality outputs for experimental video production
